Tea for Twenty

Canvas and denim checker board rug
Birthdays are big business in our house so I had to get busy stitching for Ms. Camille's big 2nd birthday bash. I found this 1800's pattern and couldn't resist.

Let's Go Fly A Kite

It seems that with every new job comes the opportunity to make something I have not made before. Take kites for instance...when was the last time you said "Yes, I would like to go fly a kite today but there are none available in the color scheme that suits my mood"? Well, if that ever does happen, you just call on me because I can make you one!

Boro, Boro!

I have recently been introduced to and had the opportunity to work with boro. Boro is Japanese indigo textiles used for futon covers and the allure is the interesting ways it is mended and reused. The most collectible pieces are the ones that have obvious patches and crude stitching.

My dear friend hired me to make drapes for her closets using boro pieces she has been collecting. Here are some snaps of the results. I think the most exciting part of my job is being introduced to new ideas and techniques...so inspiring!
